Thanksgiving kicks off a run of solid bullish seasonal patterns. November-January is the year’s best consecutive three-month span. So far this year the S&P 500 has notched more than 50 all-time closing highs, providing a good set-up for December. History shows November has been a good month for stock investors and it didn’t disappoint this year. Since 1950, the S&P 500 has generated an average gain of 1.8% from Thanksgiving through year-end. The index has finished higher about 70% of the time. So, December has historically also been a positive month for the U.S. stock market.
